Like porcelain veneers, composite veneers can be used to correct cosmetic problems with one or more teeth that have sustained minor damage, are severely discolored, are the wrong size or shape, or are improperly spaced. So what sets them apart?
Porcelain veneers require our dentists to remove a small amount of tooth enamel and take an impression of your tooth. You may wait a week or longer while your veneer is crafted in a dental lab before returning to our office to have it cemented in place.
By contrast, if you select a composite veneer, no enamel will need to be removed, and you will not need to wear a temporary veneer while your permanent one is created. Our dentists will shade the composite material to match your smile and apply it to your tooth in a single visit to our office. You will be able to enjoy your new smile right away! Composite veneers can be significantly less expensive than ones made of porcelain.
